In the fourth quarter of 2021, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps on the iOS platform in Costa Rica exhibited diverse performance trends. Data sourced from Sensor Tower provides insight into these trends.

Uber - Request a ride saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting at 1.3K in late September and peaking at 2.1K in mid-December. Weekly active users also rose steadily, from 34.2K at the beginning of the quarter to a high of 42.8K in mid-December, before dipping slightly to 34.7K by the end of December.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides showed a gradual increase in weekly downloads, beginning at 1.2K and reaching up to 1.9K by mid-December. Active users followed a similar upward trend, starting at 26.2K in late September and peaking at 35.6K in mid-December, before decreasing to 28.5K by the end of the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides had modest weekly download numbers, starting at 696 and reaching up to 999 by late October, with a slight decline to 667 by the end of December. Active users showed a consistent pattern, beginning at 14.7K and peaking at 15.4K in mid-December, before settling at 13.6K at the end of the quarter.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver experienced relatively stable weekly downloads, fluctuating between 157 and 236 throughout the quarter. Weekly active users remained steady, with minor variations around the 3.5K mark, ending the quarter at 3.5K.

DiDi Driver: Drive & Earn Cash had the lowest weekly download numbers among the top apps, ranging from 60 to 119. Active users exhibited a stable trend, beginning at 871 and peaking at 1.0K in mid-October and late December.
